Nagpur Veterinary College, Nagpur was established on 1st July 1958. It was founded with the objective of producing competent veterinary graduates to serve the livestock sector in the Vidarbha and Marathwada regions of Maharashtra. Duration      - B.V.Sc & AH - 5.5 Years [Including 1 Year Compulsory Internship]

Eligibility      - XII Science passed with National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test (NEET-UG-for that academic year) conducted by National Testing Agency, New Delhi.

 

Admission Process for B.V.Sc & A.H

Admission to the Bachelor of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry (B.V.Sc. & A.H.) program at Nagpur Veterinary College is conducted strictly on the basis of merit and is managed centrally by the Maharashtra Animal and Fishery Sciences University (MAFSU), Nagpur.

Entrance Requirement:

The undergraduate boys’ hostel includes around 104 rooms housing some 193 students, while the PG boys’ hostel has about 14 rooms; girls’ hostels include older blocks with triple-sharing and newer ones with twin-sharing layouts.

Rooms are furnished with beds, study tables, chairs, cupboards or racks, and provide 24-hour electricity and water supply. Water coolers with AquaGuard filters, refrigerators, and geysers are available. The environment is calm and conducive to study, with hygienic mess facilities providing affordable meals—undergraduate messes are typically run cooperatively by students, while girls’ messes are managed by contractors under supervision.

Security features include professional security guards and round-the-clock surveillance via CCTV, particularly in the girls’ hostel areas. Common areas such as TV rooms and water cooler zones are maintained for comfort and convenience.

Additional amenities include a health centre offering first‑aid, a gym facility, and campus-wide Wi‑Fi connectivity. The hostels are situated very close to academic blocks (often within 100 meters) for easy access. The annual hostel fee is approximately ₹25,000, with reasonable mess charges such as around ₹2,300 per month.
